How to cook Bún Chả

Is a Vietnamese dish consisting of grilled pork and noodles, which comes from Hanoi, Vietnam. Bun cha is served with grilled pork meatballs and slices (CHA), white rice noodles (BUN), as well as herbs and sauce. Bun Cha is popular in the northern area of Vietnam. In the south, there is a similar dish called Bun Thit Nuong.

 

 

Ingredients for grilled meat:

  • 3 tablespoons sugar (preferably cane)
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar (2 tablespoons or lime juice)
  • 2 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 1 onion cut into horizontal slices
  • 1 clove garlic (crushed and sliced)
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1/2 tablespoon soy sauce
  • seasoning
  • thin noodles

Ingredients for the spicy sauce:

  • sugar
  • rice vinegar (or two parts of lime juice)
  • fish sauce
  • Two clamp parts of water (see recipe)
  • a couple of sliced carrots
  • 1 larger garlic clove (crushed, sliced)
  • Chili peppers sliced
