A bowl of Pho is possible to find anywhere in Vietnam, at any time of the day or night. Like Pad Thai in Thailand, Pho is one of the favorite traditional foods in Vietnamese cuisine. Every tourist coming to Vietnam wants to or should learn of the secret within this meal, which offers a balance between sweet, salty and spicy flavors all in one bowl. Pho is a guaranteed favorite of anyone who tried it at least once. Here is a simple recipe for the preparation of Pho in your own kitchen.

Ingredients

Preparation

  • Fill a pot with 2 liters of water, then add the beef bones and bring it to a boil. Using a spoon to separate the foam that forms at the top, and add a pinch of salt. Meanwhile, lightly cook 2 scallions over open fire, which are then added into the broth with the ginger. Leave the broth on a light flame for 1 hour and finally add the star anise and cinnamon.
  • In a separate pot, use around 0.5 liter of water and bring it to a boil. Add the Oh! Ricey noodles and cook for 2-3 minutes during constant stirring, so that they don’t stick together. The finished noodles should be strained and cleaned with cold water before letting them be to drip out the rest of the water.
  • Cilantro, parsley and spring onions should be sliced and diced, and the lime cut into four pieces. Bean sprouts are cleaned under flowing water.
  • Cut the sirloin into thin slices and add it right before serving the soup.
  • Add the finished noodles into a bowl along with the sirloin, cilantro, spring onion, bean sprouts and pour the boiling broth over it.
  • Use spicy sauces and lime to flavor the soup to your liking, or add chili peppers.

Have a nice meal.
